Dev Helper Privacy Policy
This privacy policy is provided in English and Simplified Chinese. In case of inconsistency, the English version controls.
Privacy Policy
Dev Helper is a Chrome extension designed to help collect developer review information from Google Play Console and, when configured, closed testing group member information from Google Groups.
Information We Collect
The extension only collects information needed for its stated functionality:
- Google Play Console developer information, such as developer ID, developer name, country or region, website, and contact email.
- Google Play application information, such as app name, icon URL, package name, app contact email, language, and app status.
- Closed testing group information, only when the configured group is not the default group
closedttt. This may include the configured group name and member email addresses shown on the Google Groups members page. - Technical metadata needed for reporting, such as extension version, browser user agent, and timestamps.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect passwords, authentication tokens, payment information, or private messages.
- We do not collect browsing history outside the extension's declared host permissions.
- We do not use cookies permission and do not read Google account cookies.
- We do not use the collected data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
How Information Is Collected
The extension runs only on the following declared pages:
https://play.google.com/console/*https://groups.google.com/g/*/members*
On Google Play Console, the extension observes page responses already received by the authenticated page and extracts the relevant developer and app data. On Google Groups members pages, the extension reads member email addresses from the page DOM only when the URL group matches the group configured in the extension. If the configured group is closedttt, no Google Groups member collection or reporting is performed.
How We Use Information
We use the collected information only to support developer review and closed testing information completion. The information helps prepare or verify developer, application, and closed testing group details.
Local Storage
The extension stores collected results and user settings locally using Chrome extension storage (chrome.storage.local). Local data remains on the user's browser unless the user clears extension data or removes the extension.
Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell collected data. Data is transmitted only to the service endpoint used by Dev Helper for its stated functionality. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the service.
Data Security
Remote reports are transmitted using HTTPS. Local data is stored using Chrome's extension storage APIs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but the extension limits collection to the data needed for its functionality.
User Control
- Users can change the configured closed testing group in the extension popup.
- Users can prevent closed testing group member collection by keeping the default group value
closedttt. - Users can remove locally stored extension data by clearing extension data in Chrome or uninstalling the extension.
Children's Privacy
Dev Helper is intended for developers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy when the extension's functionality or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was last updated.
Contact
If you have questions about this privacy policy or data handling, please contact the developer through the support channel listed on the Chrome Web Store listing.
https://play.google.com/console/*https://groups.google.com/g/*/members*
Dev Helper
